 Therapy Practice Philosophy

It is my belief that therapy is a partnership between the client and the therapist. I believe life is to be enjoyed, not endured, and I work with clients to understand themselves more deeply and rediscover their authentic selves. Through the therapeutic partnership, clients can experience being heard and seen for who they really are. We all get in our own way at times and the therapeutic process helps clients become aware of their patterns and habits, helps in correcting self-destructive ones and improves the overall quality of their lives. If therapy does not improve a client's quality of life, then what is the point?

I work with clients individually and as couples on quality of life, communication and intimacy. I also run groups for individuals recovering from alcohol and substance abuse.

I hold a MS in Organizational Counseling, and PMC in Clinical/Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am licensed to practice as a therapist in both the District of Columbia and Maryland. I hope to see you soon.
